Production Services

Books

Since 1988, E&C has been providing full-service book production for major publishing houses and has completed hundreds of volumes. Whether it's a short, self-published philosophy book or a huge, multiauthor handbook, we can do the complete job, from editing and page layout to generating .pdf files for the printer. If you prefer, we can even arrange for printing and binding at affordable rates, whether you need a few copies or a few thousand.

Newsletters

If all you need is a short newsletter for your organization, we can handle that as well. For a recent sample, click here. You provide the copy and photos, and we do the rest.

Editorial Services

E&C provides any level of editing, from a light edit to a major rewrite, of documents from 1 to 1000+ pages. Our primary reference is the Chicago Manual of Style, which is the most widely used standard in the book publishing industry. We have also worked with many proprietary stylebooks.

We have particular expertise in technical fields, including electronics, robotics, materials engineering, and health care.

E&C also offers proofreading services to ensure accuracy and consistency in your final printed product.

Feel free to contact us for a bid on any job, large or small.

Art and Illustration

While not an art studio per se, E&C has generated thousands of technical renderings, charts, graphs, schematics, and other graphics for books and magazines. We can scan and upgrade existing artwork, generate new graphics using programs such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and locate public domain artwork as appropriate. We work with a studio in Brazil that provides excellent art at unbeatable prices.

Other

Other available services include scanning and optical character recognition to convert existing hard copy to digital form, .pdf and HTML generation, and file conversion from a variety of word processing and graphic formats.

Pricing

Production pricing is generally set on a per-job basis, starting as low as $4.00 per page for a simple 6 x 9 book. Show us the raw materials, describe the project, and we'll give you a quote. Alternatively, tell us how much your budget allows, and we'll let you know if it can be done.
